Step 4:

Contact them to answer any questions.

Obtain verbal indications of their interest and willingness to invest in your project. You have the potential investor’s contact sheet information. We develop a script for "Follow Up" phone all, to identify yourself, and offer answers to any unresolved questions. If the Business Plan is well written there will be very few questions.

After resolving their questions you ask them if they are interested in investing in your idea, subject to reviewing a Private Placement Memorandum. If the answer is NO, find out why? Each No provides an insight into why investors are reticent about your plan and gives you the ability to correct the problem. If the answer is YES, advise them that you will be completing a PPM shortly and will send it directly to them.

For example, 35 investors indicated to you that they would each invest 10,000.  that is $350,000. This validates your idea and also allows you to pay for the Private Placement Memorandum which must first be completed prior to taking any money.

Note: Federal Securities Law allows only your company’s officers to speak directly to investors.
