CONSULTING SERVICES Has your business been losing money or maybe you have hit a wall trying to take the next big step in expanding and growing your business? Often, we are approached by small business owners wishing to sell their business because they are working 12 – 14 hours per day, 6 or 7 days per week and just scraping by. In most cases, they have good businesses but are failing to apply advanced operating and marketing solutions to their problems. However, what most astonishes me is that small business owners will discard and throw away years worth of hard work, sweat and effort without first seeking help to fix the problems. Many times, in addition to increasing the revenue, we are able to make key recommendations that will resolve most if not all the problems. Big businesses use consultants to expand their revenue base. They engage consultants to review and recommend new and enhanced business practices that enable them to continually grow their businesses. Small business owners, unlike large businesses, generally cannot afford to retain high-priced consultants. Additionally, small business owners are often reluctant to spend money on consultants because they mistakenly think that no one knows their business like themselves. Therefore, for most small businesses, the principal obstacle to growing and expanding the revenue is the owner! It’s not all about knowing your business; all businesses have certain operating principles in common. It is how we look at these principles that sets you and I apart. Here is an example that illustrates this point: Total Clients Size of Unit Sale Frequency of Purchase Total Revenue 1,000 $ 100. 2 times annually $ 200,000. Problem: How would a 10% increase effect my Total Revenue? Seems like a simple question, right See ANSWER You probably thought $220,000 was the answer. Well, it’s one answer: our answer is different. This example shows how we can look at the same problem but arrive at different answers. There are many different ways to grow your business and revenue that you may not be aware of, as well as opportunities to acquire other companies that would create synergistic benefits. These are possibilities you could be exploring even if you don't have any money. Please, do not confuse money with currency. The question you need to look at is “Do you have currency?” Currency comes in many shapes and sizes, and the fact that you may not understand this further illustrates my point. There are marketing techniques that you could be trying and testing that involve relatively little money. The point is, if you have hit a wall in the expansion of your business, you need to decide whether you should invest your time and a few dollars of your money to discuss how to raise your business to a higher plateau. Thus, I repeat that the largest obstacle to growing your business could very well be you. Growing and Expanding Your Business Through Marketing, Mergers, and AcquisitionsWhat is the First Step? Before the initial consultation, we will send you a questionnaire about your business and yourself to fill out. We will then begin a dialogue of ideas and options.
