Profile and Find Investors
Profile and Find InvestorsWhat does it mean to profile and find investors? When professional venture capitalist are seeking investors for a specific project we don't blindly send out information about the project. We profile what the investor should look like and then reach out to them. In your case, there are people that are physically located within 25 miles of where you are right now who already are biased favorably in thinking your idea is a good idea. Prospects that if your project was properly presented to them, would be willing to invest in it. Your problem is to identify those people and once identified, pitch them your idea. Does it not make sense that you are better off sending your project information to prospects that are biased in your favor. So first, you must identify investors who are already predisposed favorably to your idea. Second, convince them that your plan to execute on that idea is solid and will make everyone a bunch of money. That is the purpose of creating a profile and using it to identify prospects. Without knowing your project details, I can tell you that:
Of course, once you add your project details to the process, you will be surprised how much you can guess about your prospective investor's profile. Example: A company that makes educational and entertainment dvd's and cd's for special needs children is looking for investors. Investor Profile - the parents of special needs children would certainly be favorably biased to that idea. Present them with a professionally prepared plan and you could find investors from anywhere in the U.S.A. Also, make special note that before you can take any investor money, you must prepare and provide each prospective investor with the proper "investor documents". ( See....Investor Documents...) There could be any number of factors of why I will not take on a project. It doesn't mean your project isn't viable or that you can't find investors and raise the capital yourself. In many instances, you have a reasonably decent chance of finding investors. However, it will be very difficult for you to successfully find investors without some assistance, guidance and direction. I created a series of seminars that explains to you how I profile and find investors. These audio seminars walk you through the process, I use, to find investors and raise money.
